Modern Haiku 51.2

Founded by Kay Mormino in 1969, Modern Haiku is the longest-running haiku journal outside of Japan. Paris Review has revered that Modern Haiku is “widely considered the preeminent organ of English-language haiku and haiku-related art.” In 2020, Modern Haiku featured a five page spread of Mariah Anoceto’s debut haiga gallery.

Frogpond 43:2

Frogpond is an official serial publication of the Haiku Society of America. First published in 1978, Frogpond has continuously released issues three times a year.  In 2020, Frogpond published Mariah Anoceto’s haiku:

Founded by Caroline Skanne, hedgerow: a journal of small poems is a quarterly journal of short poems, haiku, senryu, tanka & haiga. In 2020, the journal published Mariah Anoceto’s haiga “mom calls.”

HSA Anthology

The Haiku Society of America was founded in 1968 as an organization of poets, editors, critics, publishers and readers. In the early 1970s, the Haiku Society of America formed a committee to agree on a definition of haiku, which they submitted to the publishers of several English dictionaries, and became the first widely accepted definition. Mariah Anoceto’s haiku was featured in Bundled Wildflowers: Haiku Society of America Members’ Anthology 2020.

Jaden Magazine

Mariah Anoceto’s chapbook Haiku, Year One was included in the Grow and Sow showcase in Jaden Magazine by Small Leaf Press. 

Haiku North America Book Fair 

Haiku North America is a biennial conference in celebration of haiku poetry. Founded in 1991, the HNA is the largest and oldest gathering of haiku poets outside Japan. Mariah Anoceto’s chapbook Haiku, Year One was featured in the 2021 HNA Book Fair.

FLARE: The Flagler Review

The Flager Review was first published in 1990. Mariah Anoceto worked as a fiction editor for the literary magazine in 2015. FLARE: The Flagler Review went on to win first place in the Four Year Literary Magazine of the Year category at the College Media Association’s 2015-16 Pinnacle Awards.
